2) What’s the difference between Canopy & Google Classroom?

Canopy is a popular way to complement & enhance a Google Classroom.

Do you ever have students ask where to find a particular file or assignment in Google Classroom? In Canopy, you can organize that same exact content into a single page.

You can then supplement with discussion threads and 10+ other engagement tools not available in Google Classroom.

All resources and assignments for the entire year are in the same place and students can easily use visual progress bars to know where to find incomplete work.

Canopy Ed is an official Google for Education Partner.

Curriculum Providers

Curriculum providers use Canopy like a 'Shopify for digital curriculum'. Before Shopify, brick and mortar stores wanted to sell online, but it was difficult to create their own ecommerce platform. Shopify solved this problem.

Canopy does the same thing for curriculum companies that have mostly focused on PDFs or video content. With Canopy, these organizations can transform their existing resources into a fully realized curriculum - complete with multiple tools for student engagement, built in progress tracking, Google Classroom integrations, etc - and then sell it to schools and districts. (Individual creators use Canopy more as an Etsy)
